FACTS
Siddaganga Institute of Technology, popularly known as S.I.T., is located in an ideal and congenial environment on the outskirts of Tumkur City on Bangalore-Poona National Highway. It is about 65 kms from the metropolitan city of Bangalore.
S.I.T started with only three branches of Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering in 1963 with a total intake of only 120 students.

Trivia

The Chemical Engineering Department and the Department of Electrical Sciences annually organise student's seminars entitled "CHESS" and "TECHNISIUM" respectively. Two cultural festivals entitled HALCYON and SPANDANA are organised for three-days, one in each semester of the year.
